Here’s a Lovely pair of Sterling Silver Sunflower earrings, made by Los Castillo. Morrill and Berk devote an entire chapter to Los Castillo Bros in their “Mexican Silver” book, and their hallmarks are well documented in Bille Hougart’s “The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks”. Typically, one earring would have a “made in Mexico” stamp, and the other would have the Los Castillo stamp. The maker of these earrings forgot to use both stamps, and the “made in Mexico” stamp is on both earrings. The design number 664, which is correct for the Los Castillo Floral series, is also on both of these earrings. I’m including a photo of a Los Castillo floral bracelet, owned by us, that has full marks.
Nice Size, these screw on Sunflowers are 1 ¼” in diameter.
