Gorgeous and Famous, these owl pins are. Juliana made them in every color combination imaginable. This particular Owl is on pg 121 of Katerina Musetti’s “The Art of Juliana Jewelry” (Schiffer). Ms Musetti pronounces these pins “a must for any collection”. We love the impossibly deep bright blue of the Rivloli Stones. They seem to glitter with an electric blue from within. Ms Musetti devotes a chapter to “Juliana Manufacturing Nuances”, explaining that there are flaws in many (or most) of Juliana pieces, that are not to be considered a detraction, but rather a character enhancer. This particular owl has 2 “nuances”. One is the center chaton has been soldered to the left of the center (as you’re facing the piece). The other is a fissure in the left rivoli “eye” that surfaces to a minute hole.
This beauty measures 2” x 2 ¼”.
Condition is Excellent, other than 2 teensy fleabites. One on the center tip of the left eye, and the other is on one of the bottom navettes. Neither are noticeable to the naked eye, and mentioned for accuracy only.
