Apprentice designer for Cartier, Marcel Boucher established his own company in New York City in 1937. His Exceptional Jewelry is among the most collectible and sought after Costume Jewelry today. This Fur Clip, made solidly of Sterling Silver with a Gold Wash, and set with sparkling rhinestones, is Wonderfully Dramatic and 3-Dimensional. Hallmarked with the early MB, Phrygian Cap, and stamped Sterling and Pat Pending. This Outstanding piece is featured in "Costume Jewelry, The Great Pretenders" by Schiffer, p. 138. The MB Mark is tucked under the base of the Dangles.
Nice Size, this Beauty is almost 4" long. The top portion is 1 3/8" wide. Substantial weight at 39.1 gms. Almost 1 1/3 oz.
Condition is Vintage Excellent. There's a slight manufacturing error on the rope of the left dangle. Please see Photo.
