Here’s a Lovely Sterling Silver Cuff Bracelet, Hand Wrought by Multiple Award Winning Hopi Artisan, Lawrence Saufkie. Lawrence Saufkie (1935-2011) started smithing when he was 12 years old. He was taught by his famous father, Paul Saufkie Sr. Bold geometric design is featured here with fine saw work and even chisel work. It’s crafted with heavy gauge Sterling Silver sheet. Mr Saufkie is documented in Barton and Margaret Wright’s books, Bille Hougart’s books, and there’s a large write up in Schaaf’s American Indian Jewelry III Book. This handsome Bracelet is hallmarked with Lawrence Saufkie’s bear hallmark, and also stamped Sterling.
This Superb brac measures 1/2" wide. It has a 5 3/4" interior linear measure, with a 1 1/8" gap. It fits a medium sized woman's wrist or a man's small wrist. It is adjustable. It's perfect as a stand alone bracelet you wear every day. It's also terrific if you want to stack it with other bracelets for a more dramatic display. It's very comfortable and wearable, and it weighs 31.1 grams, 1 oz.
