This lovely Dresden porcelain ink stand is adorned with hand painted alpine flowers and luscious gold gilding. This dates to the earlier part of the 20th century or late 19th. The lid is attached which helps date it, since the current catalogue from the Thieme Porcelain Factory only shows un-hinged lids with their inkwells.
Porcelain collectors know how wonderful and delicate the workmanship is on items from the Carl Thieme decorating studio!
No apologies for the condition of this little gem. The gilt is bright and beautiful. No chips, scratches or flea bites either. The separate well with attached lid is also in damage free condition.
Currently in the Dresden Germany company's catalogue the prices for single pot inkwells on stands run between $400 - $460. Fresh from a coastal Maine estate.
Oh, don't forget to look at the last picture. We have a candle holder and stationary/mail holder that match. The mail holder was damaged and glued, so it works well, looks pretty on a desk or shelf...and we can give you a very nice price for it! Call us or write.
