Close your eyes and imagine the compliments you are going to get when your guests arrive and look at the stunning hand-painted plates on your table!

These Rococo Revival styled plates were hand-painted with alpine florals and meticulously hand applied gold embellishments by the Thieme Porcelain Manufactory in Dresden Germany.

Although Carl Thieme had been a successful antique dealer, his love of porcelain him to establish his decorating studio in 1869 where they painted white porcelain blanks. By 1872 his company began to produce its own porcelain. Thieme decorated in the well loved patterns of Meissen, Sevres and Vienna. He employed experienced artisans who were especially skilled in the area of porcelain painting. Realistic florals and botanicals from the old Masters were closely copied from arrangements in books and from Meissen. The Thieme Factory is still in existence and producing the museum quality work and has been known for all these years.

This style of dessert plates has not been in their catalog for many years. Their current style is vastly different, and although it still includes the beloved "blumen" or alpine flowers, they are not nearly as profuse on the newer plates. A few select molds are being painted in the style for accent pieces, but not for a dinner service. We've inquired for customers and they still have the molds and will happily produce a custom set (at a "custom" price!) Current prices for dessert plates exceed $500 each and do not include reticulated (pierced) rims. The extra time this takes to do by hand, would significantly add to the price! At present, a set of dessert plates from their offerings would be in the $6000 range.

These 12 plates are in lovely condition... No cracks, hairlines, chips or flakes.

7 1/4" diameter (18.4 cm)

WE CURRENTLY HAVE MANY PLATES IN THIS STYLE, you are welcome to contact us to assemble a set.
