This delightful centerpiece is graceful and lovely, don't you think?
Its American and from the Art Nouveau Era, circa 1884-1914. Rather than being an opaque white glass, its was blown with striated shades of white and ivory like clam broth glass. The "stripes" accentuate the tallness and really show off all the fluting and ruffles. Just in case you hadn't noticed the "fru fru"...there is cranberry glass edging to get your attention. Broken pontil base.
Delicate glass items from this era were often, through use and by dusting, broken or chipped. It is not common to find a piece with both sections undamaged, and in such magnificent condition!
Elegant and sophisticated, this antique is certainly going to get noticed!
Fine Condition, no chips, flakes, cracks or repairs.
16.5" tall and the bowl has a 10" diameter.
