This plate is one of 24 in a great series by Royal Doulton Potteries in Lambeth, England produced in the early 1920's. The black and white transfer subject in the center of each plate was taken from the well known parlor book "A Widow and Her Friends," (coffee table book in our era!) by Charles Dana Gibson, a very skilled artist/etcher/illustrator (1867 - 1944). The subject of his book was the social lives and customs of upper class women in the United States.
No chips or cracks. There is some glaze crazing on the front and back.
