Late 19th C. Silverplate frame has an overall very Victorian design of fruits--pomegranates and grapes with scrolls, leaves and cartouches. Measures approximately 10" X 13 1/2" tall. There is a shield-shaped cartouche at the bottom center, with scrollwork initials. The cartouches on the left and right sides have not been monogrammed. Minor wear, to be expected with age. The four original tabs are on the back, as is the original easel ending in ball feet. Hallmarked with letters on either side of a trefoil (feathers?) symbol, which I was unable to find. Unmarked as to country of origin, but possibly English. This beautifully detailed frame would look lovely with a photo, or mirror--makes a statement!. Weighs over 2 pounds. There are tiny numbers scratched in near the Hallmark (see photo) "2/10/33", plus "BL" or "SL"--possibly an old re-plating.
