Hand-hammered Arts & Crafts Period Frame made by Kerr, a company well-known for their sterling items (see also RL12-09, a Kerr Art Nouveau Sterling bowl). The frame has the hammered effect all over, even on the sides. It bears the Kerr "hatchet" hallmark (faint, but there--see photos), "STERLING 5209 H.M.E." It is monogrammed on the top "M.C.T.", and has a blue velvet back and easel. Dates circa 1900-1915. Overall it measures 5 1/4" X 7 1/8"; the photo area is 4 3/4" X 6 3/4". There is also a Greek key-type design around the border--see photos. Very minor dings and surface scratches. Beautiful example.
