This Frame defines Jugendstil design -- marked Germany on the back. It has ovals, ribbon drapery, and bows with a pierced gallery along the top and bottom. You can see copper peeking out from the original silverplated patina, showing some wear [please see all photos] to be expected from its dating to circa 1900-10. Measures approximately 5" X 7 1/2" high; photo/glass area approximately 3 1/2" X 5 1/2". Original tin back and easel. Wonderful example of Jugendstil design. Usually these frames have some cracks due to the fragile nature of these frames--this one is intact. Simply slide the glass out to insert your own photo.
