Sterling Picture Frame from Graff, Washbourne and Dunn with the initials PB engraved at the top. Measures approximately 4 3/8" X 6 1/8" overall; opening [measured from front] approximately 3 1/2" X 5 1/8". Graff, Washbourne and Dunn were makers of hollow-ware and novelties in NYC from the 1890s--in 1961 they were purchased by Gorham. Dark green velvet back and easel stands securely---frame can stand horizontally but the initials would then be on the side. Marked on the side with the "GWD" hallmark STERLING 4--lightly scratched [hard to see] under the word STERLING is 455B". This frame dates circa 1920s. Two original swivel tabs at the top. Some minor wear to the velvet; there are some surface scratches on the frame. In generally good condition for its age and use. Frame only weighs approximately 1.25 troy oz--there is glass.
