This late 19th Century Repousse Sterling Top Crystal Powder Jar bears the hallmarks of "Simpson, Hall, and Miller", of Wallingford, Ct. It is also marked "C" and "2403" on the edge of the lid, which retains its gold wash on the interior (see photos). The cartouche on the lid has not been monogrammed, and has a floral and scroll design. The sterling top alone weighs approximately 22 grams. There are 12 panels in the clear crystal jar, with a star design cut into the bottom--some minor scratches, normal wear for a piece of this age, and a teeny (approximately 1/16") flake-hard to see. Measures 2 1/2" tall overall; the sterling top itself is 1" high, and the base diameter is 2 3/8". Small--approximately 1/8" line "ding" in sterling top, otherwise excellent condition. Beautifully done repousse design -- a lovely addition to any collection.
