Lovely Inlaid Turquoise Frame of Spandrel shape (oval inside rectangle). The opening is surrounded by 25 round "stones" which may be French paste or crystal. This frame is heavier than most of the other turquoise frames I've had (weighs over 11.5 ounces with glass and decorative papers) and is slightly less than 1/4" thick. Measures approximately 4 3/4" X 5 1/2" high; the oval opening, measured from the front is approximately 2 7/16" X 3 7/16"; the "stones" are approximately 3/8" diameter. The stones are hand set--some are lower, one is set uneven. The turquoise inlay is in very good condition--the hundreds of pieces are level and there are no large areas of separation. The back has its original 3 tabs and brass easel. The top left end of the easel has a blunt point; the right side curls upward and keeps the frame standing steady. See also item RL432-12.
