Pretty Late Victorian Oval Silverplate Frame with Bow circa 1900. Bow has beaded design as it cascades down the Frame, and the beveled border surrounding the opening has a smaller beaded design right above it. Measures overall approximately 4 3/4" X 7 1/8" high; photo opening approximately 4 1/2" X 6 3/8". The back has a shaped lip at the top, with thick bendable tabs at the bottom -- you simply bend the tabs (gently!) and slide out the back, insert your photo, then tuck it in under the lip and carefully bend the tabs back to hold your photo in place. Original silverplated finish has tarnish spots and expected wear for age and use -- see photos. Easel is the original heavy wire. The numbers "738" are incised on the back. A Super Price!!
