Ornately Engraved STERLING Card Case by Wm. B Kerr, founded 1855, a firm well-known for its Victorian and Art Nouveau Silver and Jewelry, and they also produced Gold dresser ware. This case has the best quality engraved designs, obviously done by a master engraver. Kerr was purchased by the Gorham Corp. in 1906, so this case pre-dates 1906. This is the BEST example of a Sterling Card Case I have ever had, and it was my personal business card case for nearly 30 years. Weighs approximately 88 grams/ 56.5 dwt./ 2.8 troy ounces. Measures approximately 2 3/4" X 3 3/4", and holds modern-day business cards -- see photos. There are dings and some tarnish spots visible in the interior of the case commensurate with age and use -- see photos. The case snaps closed. Marked with the well-known Kerr "hatchet" STERLING 4082 on the inside of the case -- see photos. The engraved designs are magnificent with intertwined initials in the center of one side. Impress your clients when you hand them your business card!
