Circa 1920's Art Deco silver marcasite duette style pin clips. The piece is marked with the French boars' head mark for 800 silver. It also has a makers mark in a diamond cartouche that looks like C , a symbol, and r, but it is difficult to read. The piece measures 2 3/8" x 7/8". It weighs 22.5 grams. The duette finding has a trombone clasp. The two dress or shoe clips measure 1 1/8" x 7/8" each. The duette finding is also set with marcasite stones. Most people think of Coro when they think of a duette but Coro actually bought the patent for the combination pin clip duette finding from a Paris France jeweler Gaston Candas in 1930. I have searched and searched and cannot find the makers mark for Candas but I am pretty sure this is a pre Coro duette Gaston Candas duette. This piece is from France and is a duette. This piece is a real find for a clip collector. There is one missing marcasite, otherwise condition is good.
