The piece measures 2 3/8" in diameter and 3/4" deep. The cover of the compact has the enamel portrait surrounded by a fine cut metal filigree work lace design with a green matte background that can be seen through the filigree. Bezel set on the filigree metal are small simulated ruby and sapphire cabochons. There is a ring of cobalt blue enamel around the edge of the compact cover. The sides of the compact have an all over embossed design. The cover opens to reveal a beveled glass mirror. The mirror has brown lines of discoloration as shown. The cover snaps tightly shut. There is a small dark spot of discoloration in the metal on the inside of the compact as shown. There is much wearing off of the gold plating on the base of the compact where it would sit on a vanity. The cover and sides are in excellent condition.
