Antique seven sorrows servite chaplet rosary, The chain is steel with tri lobe links. The paters and pendant are aluminum stamped metals. The beads are a very deep brown or black. I think they are wood but I am not sure, they are not uniform in shape or size. The main circle measures 29" long. It consists of seven sets of 7 beads with 7 medals. One side of each medal has Mary with her hands folded in prayer and seven swords piercing her immaculate heart. The verso of each medal depicts one of the seven sorrows. The sorrows include the prophecy of Simeon, the flight to Egypt, The loss of the child Jesus in the temple, Mary meets Jesus carrying the cross, the crucifixion, Mary receives the body of Jesus from the cross, and the body of Jesus is placed in the tomb. The pendant measures 4 1/8" long. It has 3 beads representing Marys' tears. This piece is in very good condition.
