Vintage 1940s Ravca Fairy Tale King Doll All Original!
A sweet little king Bernard Ravca Crepe Paper Doll made in France circa 1940s. The doll was designed and made by the French Doll artist, Bernard Ravca. The doll portrays a royal king from the Fairy Tale Series. The doll is 4 1/2" tall with his stand.
The doll is built on a flexible wire frame covered with crepe paper and is attached with tiny metal pins in his feet to a round wooden original base. His costume is made of beautiful cloth and crepe paper with lots of details like cotton batting for his faux fur trim on his cape and holding a pipe! He has wonderful painted face! The doll is in very good condition.
These type of Ravca dolls are pictured and described in the book "Dollhouse and Miniature Dolls 1840-1990" by Marcie and Bob Tubbs on pages 192-195.
