Vintage Madame Alexander Tiny Betty "Colonial" Doll All Original!
This sweet little doll is from 1930s and is marked "MME Alexander" on her back and is called "Tiny Betty". She has a one piece composition body and head, jointed arms and legs, a slightly curved right arm and painted black shoes with ribbed painted white socks. The doll is all composition. She has side glancing painted blue eyes and a tiny painted closed mouth. Her wig is a white mohair with an unusual Colonial styled hair-do!
She wears her original pale pink floral printed taffeta gown that has an organdy inset trimmed with lace. The gown has an attached slip and she wears pantaloons in white cotton fabric. Her hair is adorned with a black bow as is her gown. The dress is tagged "Colonial Madame Alexander". This "Colonial" doll is pictured in the book "The Most Beautiful Dolls" by Jane Ruggles Thomas on page 55. A really sweet ensemble!
