Vintage HTF Holiday House Wee Whimsie/Jump Jump Doll!
The Wee Whimsies dolls were produced as a toy to advertise and promote children's stories and nursery rhymes. They were designed by Beatrice for Whimsie, Iinc. These little guys are scarce and hard to find.
This little pig is a "Wee Whimsies" from the story book "The 3 Little Pigs". He is 4" tall with a wire armature body, papier-mache head, a painted face and a pig snout. He has hard plastic hands and metal feet.
He is wearing a felt outfit of green felt pants, a red felt top, a yellow printed neck scarf, black metal molded boots and the remnants of a straw hat. His cute little "pot belly" sticks out as well as his curly pig's tail.
He can stand up on his own and poses well. He is very impish and adorable. He is in played with condition and could use a new straw hat.
We have pictured him with 2 other characters that are for sale in our shop. Only he is for sale in this listing.
The Jump Jump elves are from the Holiday House Radio Show in the 1940's. It was a popular children's show that ran from Thanksgiving through Christmas with many adventures for the elves to into trouble. JumpJump was the make-believe Elf that belonged to Mary Holiday. Together, Mary and her husband, Harry Hickcox formed the cast for this children’s radio program sponsored by Holiday House. The Wee Whimsies were also produced by Holiday House and are of the same type characters.
A wonderful little treasure from memories of the past!
