This is a very early Lenci doll, in a charming original felt outfit with cotton onsie. She is described in Dorothy Coleman's book, "Lenci Dolls" on page 16 in a 1925 advertisement and has been described as either a "dot-eyebrow" model 109 or 110. She is a large 19" doll with a hard-stuffed torso and has zigzag stitching at the back of the neck, a hard torso, felt arms and legs, applied felt ears and thick wefted mohair wig. She has a swivel head and fully posable arms and legs She has a mitten hands with a separate thumb and stitched fingers. The faces on these early dolls have stitching around the head and the ears are inserted next to the stitching. There is a tiny moth hole next to one ear as show but otherwise no moth holes. Her body has some light shelf dust but no stains. Face paint with side glancing eyes is all original. No odors and ready to display.
