This is a very desirable smallest size #172 Kestner Gibson Girl. She represents the upper class stylish ladies drawn by Charles Dana of Gibson's illustrations at the turn of the century. Her German bisque shoulder head is marked 172//6/0 on the head rim and "Made in Germany" on her lower shoulderplate. Her bisque has no damage. No chips, cracks or restorations. There is a hint of a rub to her lower cheek that you can only see with an eyeloop. Her soft mohair wig is original and still in the factory set with two little curls, one on each side. She has delicate face painting and brown open and close eyes. Body is original cloth for these smaller sizes and she has bisque hands and china lower legs. There are no chips or repairs to her body. I have not undressed this little beauty as her clothes do have some frail spots. The silk trim around the neck has worn out in spots and the sleeves of her dress are cream colored due to age. She wears a tiny little gold cross around her neck on a velvet ribbon. This is an outstanding example and a perfect petite size!
