This gorgeous footed, double-handled vase is a testament to the work of the artist. The vase is a mauve color with lines of deep blue. The base features dragonheads facing all four directions with gold highlights. The main body of the vase features a floral spray of mauve flowers and dark green leaves highlighted in gold on a white background and framed in an intricate gold design. The handles are small and curl to form a shell like design at the base. The tulip shaped opening at the top also features a shell like design again highlighted in gold. Even the inside of the lip of the vase has gold highlights. An unusually lovely design that would be the talk of your collection.
The vase is marked on the bottom with a green RS Steeple mark as well as S&T and Germany. This logo was trademarked in Germany in 1898 and was used with Prussia or Germany. The addition of the S&T and steeple indicates it was manufactured at the Tillowitz factory run by Arnold Schlegelmilch. This mark was used from 1899 until 1904.
The condition of this vase is excellent. There are no chips, cracks, or crazing. Very little wear on any of the gold trim.
The vase stands 9 inches tall and measures 8 ¼ inches at the widest point (handle to handle).
