Elegant is the word for this rich emerald green pitcher and tumbler set manufactured by the Cambridge Glass Company. The Cambridge Glass Company produced this color (called forest) and pattern of Inverted Thistle or Near Cut during early 1900s to the 1920s. This set has a substantial feel to it. The deep green with the thistles and leaves decorated in a burnished gold color create are certainly eye-catching. The pitcher and tumblers are stamped NEAR CUT inside on the base.
There is some definite wear to the gold decoration on both the pitcher and tumblers although it is hard to say that it diminishes the look of this set. Two of the tumblers have chips on the bottom edges/sides (see pictures for close-ups).
The pitcher stands at 8 ¼ inches high and 7 ½ inches in diameter from the lip of the pour spout to the arch of the handle. The tumblers are 4 inches high and 3 1/8 inches in diameter at the lip and 2 ½ inches in diameter at the base.
