Vintage hand blown Murano glass vase in vibrant colors of red ,yellow blue and a pattern in the center. The sommerso effect shows beautifully.
Sommerso”, which in Italian literally means “submerged” is a technique used to create several layers of glass (usually with different contrasting colors) inside a single object, giving the illusion of “immersed” colors that lay on top of each other( from : glass of venice)
The heavy glass vase is fixed on a rectangular glass base and is in perfect condition. There are no damages, chips or breaks of any kind. The Murano glass vase is dated at ca. 1950.
