Antique Micro Mosaic brooch depicting st. Peter´s square in Rome, Italy. The Micro Mosaic scene is beautifully set and of outstanding detail . A lovely detail are the various figures standing on the roof which is very rare. The Micro Mosaic is of excellent quality with sand sized tesserae which are smooth to the touch. There is no tessera missing or damaged. The rim has some small hair line faults. The Micro Mosaic is set in a silver mounting ( acid tested) which is partly gilded. It is dated at the first half of the 19th century.
