This is a museum quality blue glass vase by Archimede Seguso 1909-1999.Seguso decided to craft these vases in order to remember the fire which destroyed the Venetian theatre "La Fenice". He created a very limited number of unique vases which related to the artist´s impressions of the fire. The bands of colour on the vase represent the flames which were reflected by the water of the canal. The vase is of highest craftmanship. It is made of blue glass with white bands. Seguso crafted only a very small number of this vase ,this is the reason why it is very rare and for collectors of highest interest. The vase is signed "Archimede Seguso Murano"and dated at 1996. A complete description and catalogue of all "La Fenice" vases can be found in "I quaderni di Archimede Seguso" allegato della rivista "MCM La Storia delle cose"No32, June 1996.
