An exquisite French lithograph from right after WWII called "Montmartre", with vibrant colors and a lot of poetry!
The piece is signed "Guignier", the same artist who created my Moulin Rouge scene, item: 3462pnt
and the 2 would make a fantastic pair!
Dated 1951, it has, besides the famous "Sacre Coeur" at the top of the Montmartre hill, a painter with his easel at the bottom of the stairs, with a young boy or "poulbot" watching and all kinds of lovely vintage details.
The colors are fresh, in a harmony of light red, rust and yellow, with a touch of moss green and various shades of blue
This is early Winter and people are already wearing coats, while trees have lost most of their leaves.
On top of the stairs one can see 2 ladies with their children sliding along the rail.
This delightful artwork, with its soft watercolor quality, will bring a touch of Paris nostalgia to any decor!
