A rare print by a star of the French Art Deco era: Suzanne Meunier (1888-1974)
Suzanne Meunier collaborated to many French magazines of the time with her risque pin ups, including the world famous: " La Vie Parisienne".
You will find her in the French Wikipedia, and she is referenced in AskArt (though with no details) A biography by Daniel Aulac exists in French.
The piece, which is fairly large and printed from an etching, was published in the magazine "Eros" as a separate plate, and is dated August 1930.
The artist's name is printed in the lower right corner under the subject.
The Eros print series rarely surfaces, and this is definitely one of the best.
I must say, it was hard to resist!
You will love the fresh emerald green of the lovely red haired lady's peignoir, her matching slippers with a swan puff on top, and her ultra long legs.
Everything about her is pure charm and femininity!
A fantastic Art Deco Classic to keep very preciously, as this artist is now being re-discovered and becoming a hot collectible.
