This is a genuine Victorian pin, circa 1880, very likely English, with the most exquisite shape and a remarkable sparkle.
(not a reproduction)
The piece is gold filled and has the typical C clasp of the time.
Its rhinestones are covered at the back like in the Georgian era, but I do not believe they are foiled.
Still the paste is an incredible quality as it has hardly tarnished to this day and has retained its original limpidity and this amazing sparkle very close to diamonds.
As a matter of fact under the light it would be difficult to tell the difference!
(I include a pic of the sparkle only as it is really stunning.)
The theme is floral, with what looks like 3 flowers and 2 pairs of leaves, announcing Art Nouveau, but also retaining some 18th Century touch to it.
A rose cut for all stones, which are besides of different sizes, adds to the lovely antique feel.
Width: 1 3/8".
( 3.5 cm)
Height: 1 1/4".
In very good condition.
no stone missing.
Flower stone on the right, slightly grayer. Very little noticeable. Does not affect sparkle.
