A rare and very large (2 3/8") bronze medal from the 1920s in its original case, celebrating Prince Murat, Napoleon's brother in law who became King of Naples.
The piece is hallmarked "bronze" on the side and VERY heavy: 144g
It is also absolutely gorgeous!
One one side is the elegant Art Deco portrait of the then current Prince Murat,
on the other side is a superb letter "M" with a magnificent prince's crown on top.
The artwork is signed "LEVESQUE" I believe for Francis Levesque a famous French engraver of the French Art Deco times, and dated "20" for 1920.
You will find Francis Levesque in the French Wikipedia.
Useless to say this massive bronze piece with its prestigious details and, what is also quite rare, still in its original case, will make the most appreciated gift!
Diameter: 2 3/8".
( 6.3 cm)
CONDITION: In very good condition. No damage. Box is also in very good condition
Will be shipped "REGISTERED" from Paris, (5-7 days) including online tracking, insurance and signature at delivery.
