Large and quite spectacular, this is a French costume cameo from the late 40s/early 50s, with a faux ivory portrait of a Renaissance lady.
The lady wears a lovely low cut dress in the style of Queen Elisabeth 1, with pearls nearly everywhere, in her hairpiece, her collar, and as jewelry too.
The faux ivory is an early celluloid or plastic, carved with a lot of details. It has of course aged, but this gives it a lovely antique feel.
The frame has 2 colors: golden brass and pink copper for the breaded part.
Typical cylinder closing of the time.
A super charming piece that will add a touch of romantic nostalgia to any outfit.
