A rare and totally amazing French print from the 1950s representing a royal carriage with a nude princess under a canopy, nude angels, servants and musicians. All the nudes are slightly erotic in this risque Eames Era piece which has both elegance and irreverence.
The scene has an extravagance of details, to the point of confusing the eye, but it is also humorous, with the nude angel playing the harp above the princess an absolute riot!
The print is enhanced with hand watercolor in a harmony of pink, ocher, apricot and red, with extra pastel blues and greens.
This adds a kind of Louis XV boudoir sophistication, already at play in the carriage setting, with again a strong humor.
This unique artwork will bring Mid Century CHIC to any decor!
(no shadows in the piece)
