A rare and really fantastic French statuette from the 1960s, done with brass and lucite elements, with a strong Cubist feel, and whimsical details.
The statuette is standing on a blonde turned wood base, which with its metallic pearls decor is totally integrated in the artwork.
There is a fun beetle at the base, the kind you find in Grandville, and at the center of the piece, a Cubist mask made of a caramel color lucite enhanced with brass features.
(the brass elements are more golden in real)
The shape around the mask has an abstract King Tut feel, while the transparent green bubble on top, which catches the light nicely, is reminiscent again of of the Cubist era.
A totally unique piece with charm and poetry which will bring Modern Art elegance to any desk or collection!
