So delightfully ornate!
In the ornate "cannetille" style, with strong contrast of yellow gold and rose gold, this is one of the most delicate Napoleon III pins I have ever seen!
Small for sure (1") but not diminutive, it has incredible charm and beauty.
This is early Napoleon III, with still a Georgian feel to it.
The piece is good quality and is gilt with a thick layer of yellow gold in a rare warm tone.
It also has 4 tiny disks in rose gold for the contrast.
At the center is a rose cut clear rhinestone, highly pronged.
A small 19th Century treasure to keep preciously.
Please check my other Napoleon III pins, they are all to die for!
MEASUREMENTS: Diameter: 1". ( 2.5 cm)
In very good condition. No damage. Pin closes well.
Rhinestone has moved inside the prongs with time, and could do with some more sparkle. It would be very inexpensive to replace it with a super sparkling cz.
Will be shipped "Registered" from Paris, including insurance and signature at delivery.

HOW TO WEAR THESE 19TH CENTURY PINS
These pins cannot compare with our contemporary sizes.
But with a little bit of creativity, one can still keep their spirit alive. And I really believe they deserve it.
These pins can be worn as lapel pins, or in a creative assemblage with other antique pins of a similar size.
3 or 4 can easily find their place on a garment, and will of course attract A LOT of attention!
I noticed they mix fairly well with some bar pins of the Victorian or Edwardian times, including those with gems or pearls.
Also, one can display them around a delicate gold or silver necklace or a chain with a pendant.
Last, but not least, they make delightful collections, there are so many varieties!
