Georgian Era Mother of Pearl and gilt snuff box. Cut panels of luminous Mother of Pearl surround the box which is framed with gilt metal trim in a shell and scroll pattern. The lid is lightly engraved and carved in a floral motif.
Snuff boxes were made in a wide variety of materials; tortoiseshell, mother of pearl, horn, wood and Papier-mache.

Measurements; 2" in diameter X 1 ¼" high
Condition; good antique condition, the shell has a pinpoint hole, 2 small chips and a hairline crack. The gilt over a base metal has wear as expected for the age of the piece.
