An antique French sterling cup with vermeil interior bearing a beautiful shield which is engraved with “Jean”. Worked in guilloche with a decorative band around the top of the timbale that features grapes and vines.
The timbale has two dings on the bottom edge. For the holidays I am going to list it as it is with the price reflecting the dings. It is a lovely timbale that could be used as is for dining, flowers, or organizing a dressing table/bath.
French silver of .950 content as denoted by the Minerve 1st Titre Mark and marked for Tallois & Mayence, Circa 1880
Measurements; 3 ¼” high with 2 5/8” opening
Condition Report; two dents in the bottom edge of cup, gilt interior very good
