A vintage Gucci silver stirrup cup with a fox head. Expressive and handsomely worked in silver; the cup is marked for both Gucci and .800 silver. Stirrup cups or parting cups were offered to departing guests usually when they were already in the saddle with their feet in the stirrups. The cups contents were meant to warm the rider. Equestrian fox hunters relate the term "Stirrup Cup" to the traditional toast to begin the festivities of a hunt.
I have a total of four cups. This listing is for one. They are priced separately.
