A late 19th. Century papier mache desk set which includes five writing accessories. The black lacquer set includes a letter box, two ink wells, pen holder, drawer, and a small box which rests between the ink wells. The front of the box has been painted a taupe color with flowers including Lilly of the Valley. The letter set must have been a favorite piece which was used often. The gold pen work on the front and sides is worn on the edges. This could be touched up if preferred. The front drawer features a Mother of Pearl pull. The drawer slides easily and the letter box hinges are secure.

Measurements; 6 7/8” high, 7 ½” deep, 9 “ wide
Condition report; ink wells are in very good condition, minor ink stains inside, one ink well is missing the inside brass edging. Gold pen work is worn in many places on front and around sides of desk set. Nibble on back right lower foot and on top left corner of letter box. Paper lining inside letter box is in very good condition.
