A French sterling silver egg cup and spoon set engraved with the crown of a Marquess or Marquis. Marquis is a European title of nobility just behind a Duke.

Beautifully decorated in the Guilloché manner, both the interior of the egg cup and the bowl of the spoon have a gilt or vermeil finish. A perfectly elegant way to enjoy one’s breakfast egg.

French, both pieces are hallmarked with the French Minerve mark for first standard .950 (used after 1838) along with the maker’s punch which is being researched.

Measurements; 2 5/8” high, 1 5/8” to diameter, spoon 4 7/8” long, 47 gram weight
