An antique Gorham sterling silver inkwell or inkstand marked Gorham. The double inkwell has two glass inkpots, a double stamp box, and pen rest. Beautiful made with pierced work decoration the inkwell rests of four raised feet.
The glass inkwells are in very good condition without chips or cracks. There is normal surface wear on the bottoms. One lid on an inkwell does not close completely. It could possibly be adjusted and the price does reflect this issue.
American sterling marked for Gorham C 1875 with the Lion (facing right), Anchor, and G mark, which was used from 1853.
Measurements; 3 1/2 inches tall x 7 3/4 inches long x 4 1/2 inches wide.
Condition Report; good antique condition, normal surface marks in accordance with age and use. As noted above; one inkwell has a lid that does not fit tight.
