Fine French sterling silver napkin ring worked in the Rococo or Louis XV style. A large applied cartouche decorates the front with Rococo styling and small flowers. The monogram appears to be “DS”.
French, c 1880, .950 silver as denoted by the Minerve 1st Titre mark, makers mark for Henri Soufflot. He operated at at 89 rue de Turbigo, registered his sponsor’s mark "a rising sun over and a five pointed star under the letters HS" on the 12th of April 1884. The sponsor’s mark was struck off on the 30th of April 1910. Henri Soufflot manufactured silverware, fine cutlery and silver flatware.
Measurements; 1 ½” high X 2” in diameter, 48 grams
Condition Report; Very good, very tiny micro scratches in accordance with age and use. Tiny ding to left of the cartouche. Slight out of round which is so often seen with the lovely napkin rings that are over 100 years old
