A Victorian era sterling silver cayenne. This is a type of spoon acting as cruet stopper and used for cayenne pepper (red pepper). It has a long handle and a small narrow bowl. The small size of its bowl is indicative of the moderation one should use with Cayenne pepper.
English, fully hallmarked with Monarch's head; Lion Passant for assay town of London, date mark for 1896, and maker's mark for William Hutton & Sons.
