An antique French sterling silver coffee or tea pot by Louis Cognet of Paris. The pear shaped pot is decorated in the Rococo or Louis XV style with scrolling raised border around the neck of the pot and the lid. Rococo foliage decorates the handle spout and the applied feet. The lid of the pot is decorated with a single flower finial. A fine teapot that is ready for the French silver collector.

The tea/coffee pot stands 9 ½” high to the top of the handle. It is just back from a master silversmith in Atlanta where the handle was tightened and the insulators were replaced. The piece was only hand cleaned and not highly polished so as to retain the lovely patina that only comes with time.
