This is a circa 1900, Victorian flush mount ceiling light. The light hangs 12 1/2" from the ceiling. It is composed of a rare, deep ribbed, opalescent yellow 8" ball shade in a highly decorated cast brass fixture. The fixture features grape clusters and leaves - it has a 7 1/2" diameter at the ceiling, a 4 1/2" height, with a 4" fitter size. It has been rewired, has a standard base size socket, and is sold with the screws required for installation as well as an LED light bulb. Both the glass shade and the fixture are in very good condition.
It has become very difficult to find this style of opalescent shade from the Victorian period!
