This is a circa 1890, Victorian porch pendant light that has been converted to electric. The fixture is iron and the glass shade is a Phoenix opalescent swirl glass cylinder. The light hangs 28" from the ceiling from a decorated rod (which is the original length): it has a 5" diameter canopy at the ceiling: the body of the fixture has a 12" diameter with a 12" height and holds a 7" diameter by 7" h glass cylinder. The original gas valve is present at the base, below the porcelain socket. The fixture has been wired and is sold with hardware necessary for installation. It has a standard base size socket and any wattage bulb can be used. Although this was originally an exterior fixture, it would also be lovely in an entryway or stairwell. All components are in very good condition.
