This is a bronze powder compact box signed, Line Vautrin, who was an important French designer of the 20th Century. She lived from 1913 - 1997 and began designing and showing jewelry, mirrors, and boxes in the 1930s. This compact is the Adam and Eve pattern. It measures 2 1/2" in width x 2 5/16" in length and is 3/8" high. The box still contains powder with the puff. The interior mirror appears to be smoky but is not cracked or chipped and has not been touched. The exterior of the compact is in good condition with the clearly visible signature on the lower back.
