This is a tall flint glass whale oil lamp circa 1850. the lamp stands 11 1/2" to the top of the collar. The lamp has a 3 1/2" square base that is ground glass on the base, followed by a 3" square 2nd section. The hexagonal base of the patterned font has a 3 1/2" diameter and the hexagonal top of the font has a 5" diameter. At some point this lamp was converted to kerosene and does not have the original fluid burner. The lamp is in very good condition--without chips or cracks.
